Assignment 1: Play Along Songs Recording
Pick a song from the play along songs list and upload a recording (video or audio) of yourself playing along with it. You are welcome to choose something fun that is NOT on the list if you like! If you are unable to upload a recording, please send me a word document or email me (balesh@bellarmineprep.org) letting me know which song from the list you have chosen to work on in your practice. Remember, this is just a check in so I can hear you play. IT IS NOT A TEST! This is my way of being able to hear you so I can help you with your playing. - Ms. Bales

Finale Project: Recycled Instruments Project!
Since we are nearing the end of the year, it is now time to start our final project of the year. You will be creating an instrument out of recycled materials you can find at home. Our Recycled Instruments Project will be spread out in three phases over three weeks. The phases are:

PHASE ONE: PLANNING
PHASE TWO: BUILDING
PHASE THREE: PRESENT/PERFORM

This week we are focusing on PHASE ONE: PLANNING
You will need to do the following:
1) Pick what instrument family your creation will be a part of.
2) Fill out the planning form so that you can be ready to build in PHASE TWO next week.

Instrument Families include:
-
Aerophones (Winds & Brasses): Instruments that use Air to make a sound (you may use your mouthpiece in your design)
-
Chordophones (Strings): Instruments that use strings to make a sound.
-
Idiophones (Percussion): Instruments that use hands or sticks to strike the instrument to make a sound.

In order to help you with this, I have provided links to give you inspiration!
